Today’s adventure was jaunt to Eldorado Canyon State Park in Eldorado Springs, Colorado. Gorgeous views, hiking and a favorite among the rock climbing sect!
It is easy to see why rock climbers love this area! We ladies prefer to keep our feet and paws on something a bit more sturdy!
Still a magnificent example of Mother Nature’s handiwork!
While not the Swiss Alps, I did get the tranquil feeling of mountain wanderlust that my namesake book holds so dear.
The difference between dogs and people is simple….Gracie couldn’t care less about this incredible view, but, while happy to be in this pleasant place, would rather look for the local animal natives that call this place home!!!
We started off on the Canyon hike but found it much too steep. We decided the Fowler Trail was a much easier, wider and more comfortable pace! It was about 10 degrees cooler here then up at St Vrain (30 miles north of here, believe it or not) and with a pleasant breeze, this was a home run afternoon activity for people and dogs alike!!
Look at that!!!
My mother sure did name me correctly!! It has been a while since I have read the story of Heidi. If you have never read it, you should. It is a wonderful story of a young, jovial girl with a zest for life whose peace is found among nature and family! Spot on!!!!
(Nice job, Mom-extra Xxoo for being so incredible and intuitive about your baby girl).
And…no day is complete without a quick, secret, off leash dip in the stream that runs though the canyon!!! Like Pearl would give me an option after that beautiful hike!!!
Tomorrow is a laundry, paperwork, trip planning, bill paying dose of reality that is long over due, unfortunately. It’s ok, we have a great spot at St.Vrain and full hook-ups to boot. Like storybook Heidi, I will be eager to get back to nature after a stop in the busy world.
