A quality day seeing the sights of Seattle today!
First Stop! Fremont Troll! A great neighbor hood and this 18ft troll!! This area was heavily populated with Scandinavian folk back in the day and stories of trolls are rich in their history and have remained an common theme in the Fremont district even today. An art competition was launched to clean up the area under the Aurora Bridge, and in 1990, this guy was winner!
Next stop is Gas Works Park! Formally home to Seattle Gas and Light (the last coal gasification plan in the US) 1906-56, it became a park in 1975!
Great views of downtown Seattle and the iconic Space Needle!
House Boat Communities!!! A way of life here in Seattle. Apparently these “homes” are quite sought after and a nice one without too much work needed costs about $650k!!! (what!?!?!)
Great view and the mountains in the background!
A large hill was built in the park specific to kite flying! No kites today but a nice view of the old facility is pretty cool!
I love this shot…the Wheel, the Stadiums and Mt Rainier!!!
Had to take Shane to Pikes Place Market (no problem for we ladies to return)…nice day to tour town…80’s but much more comfortable than yesterday. The forecast finally calls for rain, on Wednesday, but we are leaving that day!!! Ha!
